Mission Statement

Magic Valley Youth Orchestra is committed to offering a rich musical experience to young musicians interested in performing with fellow musicians throughout the Magic Valley. We seek to inspire young musicians to perform music at the highest possible standard; to enrich the cultural life of our  musicians by fostering self-discipline, commitment, cooperation and community spirit through music; and to enhance our community by providing increased appreciation for the arts and well-trained musicians for years to come.

About Our Orchestra

The Magic Valley Youth Orchestra is a community-based, nonprofit organization created over 20 years ago to provide orchestral music experience for the youth of Magic Valley. We strive to enhance school music programs and private lesson instruction by providing a progressive orchestral experience in our four ensembles: Rising Strings,  Sinfonietta Strings, Magic Valley Youth Chamber Ensemble and our full orchestra, Magic Valley Youth Orchestra. Music assessments are requested for enrollment in Rising Strings, Sinfonietta Strings and Magic Valley Youth Orchestra. Enrollment in Chamber Ensemble is by audition.

The Magic Valley Youth Orchestra holds two 7-8 week sessions during which each of the ensembles rehearses weekly on Saturday mornings and performs in one concert per session. String musicians participate in two ensembles which provides an individualized opportunity to match their current abilities as well as offering a variety of experience and leadership. Young musicians gain greater musical depth, skills and knowledge from volunteer music professionals in our community.

All musicians are strongly encouraged to be enrolled as active participants in their school music program.

We’d love to hear from you!
